Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the person using it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Regular forklifts can not move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It comes with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is meant to lift employees is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
