Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine has to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
