In 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Due to the economic downturn in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machinery has to be driven significant distances, like for instance in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
