The Liebherr family business was created during the year 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The company first gained fame from its mobile tower crane that was well-known for its affordability and ease of assembly. It was upon this creation that the foundation of the company flourished under. Today, Liebherr has grown to become amongst the world's leading manufacturers of construction machines. Liebherr has instituted the divisional control companies to handle the management operations of production and sales for the individual product segments. The Liebherr Group currently encompasses ten different product divisions.
Liebherr Group's holding company is Liebherr-International AG. Liebherr-International AG is situated in Bulle, Switzerland and is operating by the Liebherr family members. Presently, the family business is being managed by Dr. H.C. Willi Liebherr and his sister Dr. H.C. Isolde Liebherr in the 2nd generation. Since 2012, some of the active individual divisions have been represented by family members in the third generation like: Patricia Ruf, Stefanie Wohlfarth, Sophie Albrecht and Jan Liebherr. These members of the family have been working hard together in order to help set up the course of the family business in the future. They are staying on top of large-scale industrial projects and residential buildings across the world.
Hans Liebherr started to build his company in the year 1949, in a small town called Kirchdorf within southern Germany. Kirchdorf, now supports among Liebherr's 20 manufacturing locations. They could average a yearly output of approximately 2800 wheeled excavators and employ more than 1400 people in that specific workforce.
