Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads using these machinery. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machinery made specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could work in smaller aisles. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
