Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are large industrial equipment designed with a straight boom arm which is extendable. The boom is normally situated on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are typically utilized for jobs that need tasks to be performed at heights that exceed other types of lifts. For example, workers can carry out exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but utilizing these lifts as opposed to having the additional work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one person. These buckets are better suited to specific tasks like electrical repair, as opposed to general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are available in electric and gas configurations and are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Beneath the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machinery gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Since these units should be directly positioned beneath the work location, these units are way more limited in their use compared to boom lifts.
The scissor lift usually has a bigger platform which allows the operator to control the lift to access a larger work area once the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, as they should sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being used for window installation or cladding, because they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a great alternative for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Boom trucks, bucket trucks and cherry pickers each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle utilized specifically for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and controls the machinery. There is a bucket for where the worker can stand in addition to an actuator arm for raising the boom and a winch for carrying.
Cherry pickers can raise employees up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to raise both heavy materials and equipment for one location to another. There are a variety of different crane types which could carry out a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of machines excel at different jobs and are great for certain applications and accomplishing particular tasks.
